The Shire wanted to position the town as a place to live, work, visit and invest – by inspiring pride and stimulating interest in the town.


We needed to understand Katanning - what makes the town tick and why it is unique in comparison to other locations. Through the facilitation of workshops and interviews plus research, we engaged the community, local residents and businesses to find out what lay at the heart of Katanning. Agricultural entrepreneurialism underpinned the Katanning story leading to our brand essence of “Timeless Stories”.

Our team at Flare developed a series of 8 content pieces under the “Timeless Stories” theme. Each story was told through the prism of the town’s key pillars, namely innovation, country charm and the handing down of stories through the generations. We captured the charm and innovativeness of Katanning by meeting and exploring the stories of some extraordinary locals.
